Problem

A cyclist rides at a constant speed of 6 m/s6\,\text{m/s} around a circular track of radius 40 m40\,\text{m}. Answer the following: (i) Explain whether the cyclist is undergoing acceleration during this motion. (ii) State the direction of this acceleration when the cyclist is at the easternmost point PP of the track. (iii) If the cyclist continues with the same speed on a different track of radius 20 m20\,\text{m}, will the magnitude of the acceleration be the same, greater or smaller? Give a qualitative reason for your answer.
