Problem
A jeweler mixes two gold alloys, one containing 40% gold and the other containing 60% gold. If he mixes his intended amounts, he gets an alloy with 52% gold. If he had instead used 5 ounces more of the 40% alloy and the same intended amount of the 60% alloy, the resulting mixture would be exactly 50% gold. How many ounces of each did he originally intend to mix?
