Problem

A school bus starts from rest and moves along a straight road with uniform acceleration. Answer the following questions based on this situation: (a) Write the second equation of motion for uniformly accelerated motion in a straight line, clearly stating what each symbol represents. (b) If the bus accelerates uniformly at 1.2 m/s21.2\,\text{m/s}^2 for 15 s15\,\text{s}, calculate the distance it covers in this interval. (c) For the same time interval, how far would the bus travel if the acceleration were 0.8 m/s20.8\,\text{m/s}^2? Compare the two results obtained in parts (b) and (c).
