Problem

Three resistors 2 Ω2\,\Omega, 5 Ω5\,\Omega and 10 Ω10\,\Omega are connected in parallel across a 10 V10\,\text{V} d.c. source. (a) Compute the current through each resistor. (b) Determine the power dissipated in each resistor. (c) Identify which resistor dissipates the maximum power and calculate the ratio of the largest power to the smallest power among the three. (d) Find the total power drawn from the source and verify that it equals the sum of powers calculated in part (b).
