Problem

For a particular series RLCRLC circuit the rms current is 5.0 A5.0\,\text{A}. The individual voltage drops across the elements are measured to be VR=60 VV_R = 60\,\text{V}, VL=90 VV_L = 90\,\text{V} and VC=30 VV_C = 30\,\text{V}. (i) Determine the magnitude of the supply rms voltage VV using an appropriate method. (ii) Calculate the impedance ZZ of the circuit. (iii) Find the phase angle ϕ\phi between the supply voltage and the current, stating clearly whether the current leads or lags the voltage.
