Problem

Consider the quadratic polynomial 2x2−11x+122x^2-11x+12. (i) Verify that x=4x=4 and x=32x=\frac{3}{2} are zeros of the polynomial. (ii) Hence express 2x2−11x+122x^2-11x+12 as a product of its linear factors. (iii) Explain how your verification in part (i) justifies the factorisation obtained in part (ii).
