A truck of mass 4000kg is travelling on a level road at 15ms−1. The brakes apply a constant retarding force of 2.0×104N opposite to the direction of motion until the truck comes to rest.
(a) Calculate the time taken for the truck to come to rest.
(b) Determine the distance moved by the truck during this time.
(c) Find the work done by the braking force and show that it equals the loss in kinetic energy of the truck.
