Problem

A newly discovered planet X has a mass that is 9 times the mass of Earth and a radius that is 3 times the radius of Earth. (i) Show that the acceleration due to gravity at the surface of planet X can be expressed as a simple fraction of the acceleration due to gravity at the surface of Earth. (ii) An explorer of mass 50 kg lands on planet X. Calculate his weight on the planet. (iii) Compare his weight on planet X with his weight on Earth and state the factor by which it changes.
