If the density of aluminium is 2.7 g cm−32.7\,\text{g\,cm}^{-3}, what will be the behaviour of the cube when gently placed in kerosene of density 0.8 g cm−30.8\,\text{g\,cm}^{-3}? (a) It floats completely immersed without touching the bottom. (b) It remains suspended at the point where it is released. (c) It sinks to the bottom of the kerosene. (d) It floats partially immersed with some portion above the surface.
