Problem

Two distinct straight lines pp and qq are intersected by a third line tt at points MM and NN respectively. Answer the following questions: (i) Define consecutive interior angles with respect to lines pp, qq and the transversal tt. (ii) If p∥qp \parallel q, state and justify the relationship between any one pair of consecutive interior angles formed by tt. (iii) Suppose a pair of consecutive interior angles formed by tt are found to be supplementary. Explain, with reasons, whether this information is sufficient to conclude that p∥qp \parallel q.
