Problem

An object has a mass of 5 kg5\,\text{kg}. (i) Calculate its weight in newton on the Earth. (Take g=9.8 m/s2g = 9.8\,\text{m/s}^2.) (ii) Express this weight in kilogram-force (kgf). (iii) On planet X the acceleration due to gravity is 12 m/s212\,\text{m/s}^2. Determine the weight of the same object on planet X in newton. (iv) Compare the numerical values of its weight on the Earth and on planet X and state which one is larger and by what factor.
