Problem

A 1.5 kg1.5\,\text{kg} block is placed on top of a 3.0 kg3.0\,\text{kg} block resting on a frictionless horizontal surface. The coefficient of static friction between the two blocks is 0.30 and the coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.25. A horizontal force PP is applied to the upper block only. Determine the minimum magnitude of PP that will cause the upper block to begin sliding over the lower block. Give your answer in newtons.
