Problem

An ideal 12 V12\,\text{V} DC power supply is connected to two resistors, R1=6 ΩR_1 = 6\,\Omega and R2=3 ΩR_2 = 3\,\Omega, that are wired in parallel. An ideal ammeter is inserted in the single wire that leads from the positive terminal of the power supply to the junction of the two resistors. An ideal voltmeter is connected directly across resistor R2R_2. (a) Determine the equivalent resistance of the parallel network. (b) Calculate the current through each resistor. (c) State the reading of the ammeter. (d) State the reading of the voltmeter.
