Problem

A resistor is connected across a source of potential difference 2.4×101 V2.4\times10^{1}\,\text{V}. The current in the circuit is measured as 1.5×10−2 A1.5\times10^{-2}\,\text{A}. (i) Calculate the resistance of the resistor and express your answer in ohms. (ii) Convert the resistance obtained in part (i) into kilohms, giving your answer to two significant figures. (iii) If the current through the resistor is doubled while the resistance remains constant, calculate the potential difference that must be applied.
