Problem

A car passes point AA on a straight highway and then moves with a constant acceleration of −1.5 m/s2-1.5\,\text{m/s}^2 for the next 10 s10\,\text{s}. At the end of this interval its speed is 5 m/s5\,\text{m/s}. (i) Determine the speed of the car as it passed point AA. (ii) If the same acceleration continues beyond the 10 s10\,\text{s}, calculate the additional time required for the car to come to rest. (iii) Find the total change in velocity of the car from point AA until it comes to rest.
