Problem

A laboratory has an unlimited stock of identical capacitors, each of capacitance 4 μF4\,\mu\text{F}. A capacitor bank of 96 μF96\,\mu\text{F} is to be assembled using only parallel connections. (i) Calculate the minimum number of these 4 μF4\,\mu\text{F} capacitors required. (ii) If the completed bank is connected to a 50 V50\,\text{V} power supply, determine: (1) the charge on each individual capacitor, (2) the total electrostatic energy stored in the bank.
