A telescope has an objective of focal length

and an eyepiece of focal length

4\,\text{cm}

. It is used in normal adjustment. The eyepiece is then replaced by another of focal length

2\,\text{cm}

. Calculate the magnifying power obtained (i) with the first eyepiece, and (ii) after the replacement.
