Problem

A charge of −8.0 nC-8.0\,\text{nC} is placed at the origin of an xx–yy coordinate system in air. Point PP has coordinates (0.30 m, 0.40 m)(0.30\,\text{m},\,0.40\,\text{m}). Take k=9.0×109 N m2C−2k = 9.0\times10^{9}\,\text{N m}^2\text{C}^{-2}. (i) Determine the xx-component ExE_x and the yy-component EyE_y of the electric field at point PP. (ii) Using your results from part (i), find the magnitude EE of the electric field at PP and the angle it makes with the positive xx-axis. (iii) Express the magnitude obtained in part (ii) in scientific notation, including appropriate SI units.
