Problem

Two resistors of 2 kΩ2\,\text{k}\Omega and 3 kΩ3\,\text{k}\Omega are connected in series to a 10 V10\,\text{V} battery. The potential difference across the 3 kΩ3\,\text{k}\Omega resistor is 6 V6\,\text{V}. If both resistors are replaced by ones having exactly double their original resistances and the same battery is used, the new potential difference across the 3 kΩ3\,\text{k}\Omega resistor (now 6 kΩ6\,\text{k}\Omega) will be (a) 12 V12\,\text{V} (b) 3 V3\,\text{V} (c) 6 V6\,\text{V} (d) 4 V4\,\text{V}
