Problem

Marks (out of 25) obtained by two different classes in a short test are as follows: Class I: 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 Class II: 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, x (x>18)x \, (x>18) (i) Find the standard deviation of marks for Class I. (ii) If the standard deviation of marks for Class II is equal to that of Class I, determine the value of xx, given that x>18x>18. (iii) After inserting the value of xx, obtain the mean marks of each class and state which class shows greater consistency in performance. Give a brief justification based on your results.
