Problem

An ideal electric dipole has dipole moment magnitude 5.0×10−9 C m5.0 \times 10^{-9}\,\text{C\,m}. Along its axis the electric potential at point P is 2.25×103 V2.25 \times 10^{3}\,\text{V}. (i) Determine the distance of point P from the centre of the dipole. (ii) How far from the centre along the same axis will the potential become one-fourth of the value at P?
