Problem

Two planets have the following characteristics: Planet A: mass 2 ME2\,M_{E}, radius 3 RE3\,R_{E} Planet B: mass 0.5 ME0.5\,M_{E}, radius 0.7 RE0.7\,R_{E} (where MEM_{E} and RER_{E} are the mass and radius of Earth). A pebble is dropped from rest from a height of 25 m25\,\text{m} on the surface of each planet. (i) Calculate the acceleration due to gravity on each planet. (ii) Determine the time taken to reach the ground on each planet. (iii) State on which planet the pebble lands first.
