Problem

A steel wire of length 0.60 m0.60\,\text{m} carries a current I1=10 AI_1 = 10\,\text{A} while making an angle of 75∘75^{\circ} with a uniform magnetic field of 0.40 T0.40\,\text{T}. (i) Show that the magnetic force acting on the wire under these conditions is 2.3 N2.3\,\text{N} (to two significant figures). (ii) The current in the wire is then adjusted to a new value I2I_2 and simultaneously the wire is rotated to make an angle of 40∘40^{\circ} with the same magnetic field. If the magnitude of the magnetic force is to remain 2.3 N2.3\,\text{N}, determine the value of the new current I2I_2 required.
