Problem

Four points A,B,CA,B,C and DD have the following coordinates: A(3,4)A(3,4), B(−2,4)B(-2,4), C(−2,−1)C(-2,-1) and D(3,−1)D(3,-1). (i) Plot the points on a single Cartesian plane and join them in the order A→B→C→D→AA \to B \to C \to D \to A. (ii) Prove that the figure ABCDABCD you have obtained is a rectangle. (iii) Calculate the area and the perimeter of the rectangle. (iv) Find the length of the diagonal ACAC. (v) State the quadrant in which each vertex lies.
