Problem

In a right-angled triangle PQRPQR with ∠R=90∘\angle R = 90^\circ, the sides PR=9 cmPR = 9\,\text{cm} and QR=40 cmQR = 40\,\text{cm}. (i) Calculate the length of the hypotenuse PQPQ. (ii) Determine the measures of the acute angles ∠P\angle P and ∠Q\angle Q correct to the nearest minute. (iii) For ∠P\angle P, verify that sin⁡2∠P+cos⁡2∠P=1\sin^2 \angle P + \cos^2 \angle P = 1 using your calculated values.
