Problem
A square sheet of thick metal has side 44 cm. It is melted and recast into a single circular plate of the same thickness. Use π=722.
(i) Find the radius of the circular plate formed.
(ii) Calculate the circumference of the circular plate, correct to one decimal place.
(iii) To strengthen the edge, a copper band is to be fixed around the rim of the plate. If the band costs Rs 5 per centimetre, find the total cost of the band.
