Problem

Three cartons contain 2310, 2730 and 3570 identical pencils respectively. A teacher wishes to repack all the pencils into bundles so that each bundle contains the same maximum possible number of pencils and no pencils are left over. (i) Find the greatest number of pencils that can be packed into each bundle. (ii) Determine how many such bundles will be obtained from each of the three cartons. (iii) Explain why using any larger bundle size than the number you found in part (i) would necessarily leave pencils unbundled.
