Problem

A narrow slit has width 5.0 μm5.0\,\mu\text{m}. Quantum diffraction becomes noticeable when a particle’s de Broglie wavelength is at least 1.0%1.0\% of the slit width. Determine the largest mass a particle moving at 1.0 m s−11.0\,\text{m}\,\text{s}^{-1} can have and still produce noticeable diffraction at the slit. Express your answer in kilograms to two significant figures.
