Problem

A curve is given by x=et+tx=e^{t}+t and y=ln⁡(5t2+1)y=\ln(5t^{2}+1) where t>0t>0. (i) Find dydx\dfrac{dy}{dx} in terms of tt. (ii) Obtain d2ydx2\dfrac{d^{2}y}{dx^{2}} in its simplest form. (iii) Evaluate d2ydx2\dfrac{d^{2}y}{dx^{2}} at t=1t=1 and hence comment on the concavity of the curve at the corresponding point.
