Answer the following:
(i) Why is the sign of a torque taken positive when the force tends to produce an anticlockwise rotation about the chosen axis?
(ii) Two forces of equal magnitude act in opposite directions at equal perpendicular distances on either side of a pivot. What is the net force on the body and what kind of rotational effect, if any, does the pair produce?
