Problem

Three vectors are given as u=2i^−j^+3k^,v=4i^+2j^−k^,w=5i^−2j^+6k^.\mathbf u = 2\hat i - \hat j + 3\hat k, \qquad \mathbf v = 4\hat i + 2\hat j - \hat k, \qquad \mathbf w = 5\hat i - 2\hat j + 6\hat k. Answer the following: (a) Find the acute angle between u\mathbf u and v\mathbf v. (b) Decide whether u\mathbf u and v\mathbf v are perpendicular, giving suitable justification. (c) Decide whether u\mathbf u and w\mathbf w are parallel, giving suitable justification. (d) If p=u+v\mathbf p = \mathbf u + \mathbf v, determine whether p\mathbf p is perpendicular to w\mathbf w.
