Problem

Consider the function gg defined as g(x)={sin⁡xx,x<0,a+bx,x≥0,g(x)=\begin{cases} \dfrac{\sin x}{x}, & x<0,\\ a+bx, & x\ge 0, \end{cases} where aa and bb are real constants. (i) Find the values of aa and bb that make gg continuous at x=0x=0. (ii) For the obtained values of aa and bb, discuss the continuity of gg on the entire real line. (iii) State with reasons the nature of discontinuity, if any, at x=0x=0 when aa and bb do not satisfy the condition found in part (i).
