Problem

A stone is projected vertically upward with an initial velocity of 15 m s−115\,\text{m\,s}^{-1}. Taking upward direction as positive and the acceleration due to gravity as −9.8 m s−2-9.8\,\text{m\,s}^{-2}, answer the following. (i) Calculate the velocity of the stone after 2 s2\,\text{s}. (ii) Determine the displacement of the stone from the point of projection after the same time. (iii) Find the time taken by the stone to reach its highest point.
