Answer the following questions with reference to a circuit containing a pure capacitor connected to an AC source.
(i) Explain why the current in the circuit is said to be "wattless" even though its magnitude may be large.
(ii) Draw a labelled phasor diagram showing the phase relation between the alternating voltage across the capacitor and the current through it.
