Problem

A particle moves with a constant velocity of 20 m s−120\,\text{m s}^{-1} directed 30∘30^{\circ} east of north. At t=0t=0 the particle is at the origin of a rectangular coordinate system in which the x-axis points east and the y-axis points north. (a) Write the position vector r(t)\mathbf{r}(t) of the particle as a function of time tt, expressed in component form. (b) Determine the x- and y-coordinates of the particle after 15 s15\,\text{s}. (c) Find the time at which the y-coordinate of the particle becomes exactly 200 m200\,\text{m}.
