Problem

A trigonometric function gg has been vertically stretched and horizontally shifted. It satisfies the following conditions: • Its graph has vertical asymptotes at x=−π4+nπx=-\dfrac{\pi}{4}+n\pi, where n∈Zn\in\mathbb Z. • It passes through the point (π4,0)\left(\dfrac{\pi}{4},0\right). • For every xx in its domain, g(x)g(x) is exactly twice the corresponding value of the usual tangent function. (a) Obtain a simplified equation for g(x)g(x). (b) Sketch one complete period of g(x)g(x). (c) Write the domain and range of gg.
