Problem

Rohan went to a stationery shop on two successive days. On Day 1 he bought some pencils and pens and spent (7x2−3x+5) rupees(7x^2 - 3x + 5) \text{ rupees} and on Day 2 he bought a different set of items and spent (4x2+6x−9) rupees.(4x^2 + 6x - 9) \text{ rupees}. Later he returned goods worth (3x2−4x+2) rupees(3x^2 - 4x + 2) \text{ rupees} and received the corresponding refund. (i) Write a polynomial representing Rohan’s total expenditure for the two days before the refund is considered. (ii) Simplify the polynomial obtained in (i) by combining like terms. (iii) Find the simplified polynomial representing his net expenditure after accounting for the refund.
