Problem

A bacterial culture initially contains 2×1052\times10^{5} cells. After 3 hours the number of cells is observed to be 5×1055\times10^{5} and the growth is continuous. (i) Find the growth constant kk per hour (correct to four significant figures). (ii) Predict the number of cells present after a further 4 hours. (iii) Calculate the time required (in hours and minutes) for the culture to reach one million cells.
