Problem

The time period TT of revolution of a satellite around a planet is believed to depend on the orbital radius RR, the mass mm of the satellite, the mass MM of the planet and the universal gravitational constant GG. (i) Assuming T∝RambMcGdT \propto R^{a} m^{b} M^{c} G^{d}, write the dimensional equation obtained by equating the dimensions on both sides. (ii) Solve for the exponents aa, bb, cc and dd up to a dimensionless factor. (iii) Which of the listed physical quantities does the final expression show to be irrelevant to the time period? Interpret the physical significance of this result.
