Problem

Three point charges are fixed at the positions (2,0) m(2,0)\,\text{m}, (0,3) m(0,3)\,\text{m} and (−1,−1) m(-1,-1)\,\text{m} with values +5 μC+5\,\mu\text{C}, −3 μC-3\,\mu\text{C} and +4 μC+4\,\mu\text{C} respectively. A test charge of +1 μC+1\,\mu\text{C} is placed at the origin. The magnitude and direction of the net electrostatic force on the test charge are approximately (a) 0.032 N0.032\,\text{N} directed  ≈45∘\,\approx45^{\circ} above the +x+x-axis (b) 0.016 N0.016\,\text{N} directed  ≈84∘\,\approx84^{\circ} above the +x+x-axis (c) 0.027 N0.027\,\text{N} directed  ≈80∘\,\approx80^{\circ} above the −x-x-axis (d) 0.0098 N0.0098\,\text{N} directed  ≈81∘\,\approx81^{\circ} above the +x+x-axis
