Problem

A purely resistive heater is connected to an a.c. mains supply whose instantaneous voltage is given by v(t)=2002 sin⁡(314 t) Vv(t) = 200\sqrt{2}\,\sin(314\,t)\,\text{V}. (i) Identify the angular frequency of the supply and hence calculate its frequency. (ii) Determine the period of the supply voltage. (iii) Calculate the number of complete cycles that occur in a time interval of 0.040 s0.040\,\text{s}.
