Problem

A gas at 27∘C27^\circ\text{C} in a cylinder has a volume of 4 L4\,\text{L} and pressure 100 N m−2100\,\text{N m}^{-2}. (i) The gas is first compressed at constant temperature until its pressure is 150 N m−2150\,\text{N m}^{-2}. Calculate the change in volume. (ii) It is then heated at constant volume until its temperature becomes 127∘C127^\circ\text{C}. Calculate the new pressure.
