Problem

Consider the cubic polynomial f(x)=x3−3kx2+9x+5f(x)=x^{3}-3kx^{2}+9x+5, where k∈Rk\in\mathbb R. (i) Find f′(x)f'(x). (ii) Determine the condition on kk that makes f′(x)f'(x) positive for every real xx. (iii) Using the result obtained in (ii), find the set of real values of kk for which the function ff is strictly increasing on (−∞,∞)(-\infty,\infty).
