Problem

Answer the following questions about straight lines: (i) Explain, using their general algebraic representations, how the point–slope form and the slope–intercept form of a straight line differ from each other. (ii) A non-vertical line has slope mm and passes through the fixed point (x1,y1)(x_1,y_1). Derive the equation of this line in point–slope form. (iii) The line 2x+3y−6=02x+3y-6=0 is parallel to a required line that passes through P(4,−1)P(4,-1). Write the required line first in point–slope form and then convert it to general form.
