Problem
A parallel-plate capacitor is charged to a potential difference V and then disconnected from the battery. A dielectric slab of dielectric constant 4 is completely inserted between its plates without touching them. Will the energy stored in the capacitor increase, decrease, or remain the same? Give a reason for your answer.
