Problem

A particle is moved successively from P(1,2,3)P(1,2,3) to Q(7,−1,5)Q(7,-1,5) and then to R(3,4,−2)R(3,4,-2) by the same constant force F⃗=10i−4j+6k\vec F=10\mathbf i-4\mathbf j+6\mathbf k N. (i) Determine the displacement vector PQ⃗\vec{PQ} in component form. (ii) Calculate the work done by the force during the motion from PP to QQ. (iii) Find the displacement vector QR⃗\vec{QR} and the corresponding work done from QQ to RR. (iv) Obtain the total work done in moving the particle from PP to RR by adding your results from parts (ii) and (iii). (v) Verify your answer to part (iv) by computing the work done if the particle were moved directly from PP to RR under the same force.
