Problem

A U-tube manometer is open to the atmosphere at both ends. The left arm contains a 0.20 m column of an unknown liquid X (density ρX\rho_X) floating above water, while the right arm contains only water. At equilibrium, the water level in the left arm is 0.050 m lower than the water level in the right arm. Using g=9.8 m s−2g=9.8\,\text{m\,s}^{-2}, determine the density ρX\rho_X of liquid X.
