Problem

A trapezium ABCDABCD (with AB∥CDAB \parallel CD and AD≠BCAD \neq BC) is inscribed in a circle. The diagonals ACAC and BDBD intersect at EE. It is given that AB=10 cmAB = 10\,\text{cm}, CD=6 cmCD = 6\,\text{cm} and BE=4 cmBE = 4\,\text{cm}. (i) Prove that △AEB∼△CED\triangle AEB \sim \triangle CED. (ii) Using part (i), show that AE×EC=BE×EDAE \times EC = BE \times ED. (iii) Establish that ∠AED=∠ABD\angle AED = \angle ABD. (iv) Calculate the length of EDED.
