Problem

Solve the following system of linear equations in two variables, if possible: 2x+3y=52x + 3y = 5, 4x−y=114x - y = 11. (i) Write the coefficient matrix AA, the variable matrix XX, and the constant matrix BB so that the system is expressed as AX=BAX = B. (ii) Calculate ∣A∣|A|. Hence, state whether the system has a unique solution, no solution, or infinitely many solutions. (iii) If a unique solution exists, find the values of xx and yy.
