Problem

An electric kettle is marked “1500 W, 230 V”. (i) Calculate the current drawn by the kettle when it is operated at its rated voltage. (ii) Determine the resistance of its heating element at the operating temperature. (iii) If the kettle is connected to a 200 V200\,\text{V} supply and the resistance of the element remains unchanged, calculate the power it will consume under this condition. State whether the kettle will heat water more slowly or more quickly compared with the rated condition and give a brief reason.
